Mock election, equipment order could signal Las Animas County improving preparedness for ballot season 

The Clerk and Recorder’s Office announced last week, May 20, during the Las Animas County Board of County Commissioner’s meeting, that they plan to hold a public mock election on the second week of June and order a “large” quantity of ballot drop boxes and voting equipment, which could signal a ramp-up in preparations before the upcoming 2025 election cycle.

Trinidad School District No.1 requests $1.3 million in funding support from city for Miner track field renovation  

Backed by a presentational video with student-athlete testimonials and 100 years of local significance, interim superintendent of Trinidad School District No.1, Olivia Bachicha, took to City Hall on Tuesday, May 20, to ask council for support for their $1.3 million funding effort for track and field renovations.
