Ramon “Ray “ Nunez, 76, sadly passed away October 24, 2022 at home.

Ray was born in Tucson, Arizona, on August 31, 1946, to Jose and Brigida Nunez. He attended Tucson Arizona schools where he later graduated.

He entered the United States Army after graduation. He later served in the Vietnam Conflict. During his service, he became a drill sergeant. After serving 24 years in the service, he retired in Trinidad, where he married his wife, Diana Garcia.

He served as the Director of St. Vincent de Paul of the Holy Trinity Pastoral Center. He was also a bus driver for Trinidad School District I.

In his spare time, he enjoyed his visit to the casinos. Ray is survived by his wife, Diana, his sisters, Mary Helen (Eddie) Hernandez, Alice Nunez, brother, Henry Nunez, sisters and brothers in law, Bernadine, (Joey) DeGarbo, Randy (Lucy) Garcia, Steve (Janet) Garcia, Ben Garcia and Joanne Greek. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family also survive. Services for Ray will be at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, November 4, at 1 PM with Father Tim presiding. Inurnment will follow at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by Fort Carson Honor Guard.
