HARRY EPPES

Harry Eppes, 99, of Trinidad, CO. passed away on his 99th birthday on March 28th, 2023

Harry was born in Lubbock, TX. He attended Texas Tech University from 1942-1943 before entering the Navy V12 Program. Harry was selected to attend the Navy Supply Corps. Training at Harvard University. After being commissioned as Ensign upon graduating from Harvard, he was assigned as Dispursing Officer of 110th Naval Construction Battalion on Tinian, Marianas Islands. He was later promoted to Supply Officer with the 56th Naval Construction Battalion at Guam Marianas Islands. After Guam he was assigned as Surplus Property Officer at Manus, Admiralty Islands.

Harry loved to tell many interesting stories about his time in the South Pacific that family, friends and new acquaintances loved hearing. He was a great story teller. Harry also had many interesting stories about growing up in the Great Depression.

After his military service, Harry attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 1948. Harry was employed with Amoco Production Company from 1948-1984 in the administrative department.

Harry was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He was honored many times by participating in several Trinidad parades and Veterans events.

Harry is survived by his wife Patricia Eppes, Trinidad Co., and daughters Allison Batty, Albany, NY, Evelyn Moore and her husband Brad Moore, Austin,TX, Nicole Strine, Trinidad CO, grandchildren Brooke Chavez and her husband David Chavez, Crystal Batty, Robert Batty, Courtney Moore, Ashley Moore, and great grandchildren Alora Sutton and Grace Chavez.

Services will be held in Houston, TX.
