1946-2023

Fred H. Fernandez passed away in March 2023 in Aurora, CO. He was born in Trinidad, CO to Fred and Ophelia Fernandez.

He attended school in Trinidad. After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war and then served in the Air Force Reserve.

He joined the Denver Fire Department in 1973 and lived in Denver and then moved to Aurora where he was a firefighter at DIA until his retirement in 2000.

He loved playing golf, taking his hot rod to car shows, and enjoyed several other hobbies.

Fred is survived by his brothers Ed Fernandez, Carl Fernandez, Norman Fernandez, his sister Esther (Alex) Cruz, sister in law Theresa Fernandez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers George and Michael, and parents Fred and Ophelia.

Cremation has taken place and internment will be at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery in Trinidad. Per Fred’s request, there will be no services.
