Patricia Ann (Peach) Vigil our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend went to rest in Jesus’ arms on Sunday, April 2. Peach was born on April 17, 1977, the daughter of Ben and Mary Mestas. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and sister, Mary and Myra Jean, and son-in-law Michael Sandoval
Peach was born and raised in Starkville/Trinidad and attended area schools. In 2000, she began her employment as a clerk with the Las Animas County Clerk & Recorder’s office which led to a successful career, becoming the elected County Clerk & Recorder in 2014, serving two terms. In 2005, she married her loving husband Christopher Vigil, and together they had two beautiful daughters, Carley and Cydney, and Peach gained two wonderful bonus children, Ashley and Dylan. Peach was a dedicated public servant who loved music and dancing, enjoyed watching movies, spending time with her family, snuggling her dogs, and “cruisin’ the bricks” with her niece Brittany and best friend Joe. Peach had a wonderful sense of humor,
loved any kind of comedy, and would light up a room with her laughter and beautiful smile. She loved all holidays, when her family was all together to eat, celebrate, and make memories. She was also blessed with countless friends who loved her dearly
Peach is survived by her dad Ben, husband Chris, her daughters Carley, Cydney, Ashley, and son Dylan (Dezirae) Vigil, grandchildren Chloeylin, Camdyn, Leighton and Daxton; brother Carl (Gwen) Mestas, sister Bonnie (Jim) Felthager, nieces Brittany, Brenda, and MyraJean; and nephews Blaide, Christopher, and Alexzander. Her in-laws, Alfred and Virginia Ortiz,
sisters-in-law Jamie (Dominick) DiVello, Yvette Vigil, Regina (John) Archuleta, brothers-in-law Eric (Linsey) Ortiz, Brett Ortiz, Ashley Giron and many other nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Also left to cherish her memory is her best friend Joe Mestas, who was ever loyal and with her to the very end
A Memorial Service to honor Peach will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm, at the Mullare Murphy Funeral Home with Elders Brian Swann and Glenn Montague officiating. A Celebration of Life reception and dinner will follow, with location to be announced at the service. Private Interment
