Barbara M. Lovato formerly of Trinidad, CO and who has resided in Denver the past 13 years passed away on September 16th at the Lutheran Collier Hospice Center.
She was born on December 4, 1934 in Valdez, Colorado. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid Bronco fan and she loved spending her Sunday afternoons watching the football game.
Barbara was employed by Mt. San Rafael hospital. Upon her retirement from the hospital, she worked as a door greater at Wal-Mart.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Erminio, her parents Manuelita and Edwardo Gomez her father and mother in-law Juan and Virginia Lovato. Sisters; Margaret Ruybal, Emma Apodoca and Madelyn Barela. Brothers; Richard, Ernie, Louie, Charles and Joe Gomez.
She is survived by her sister Dora Lovato of Trinidad, Her children Grace (Rudy) Aragon, Dolores (James) Griego, Isabel (Frank) Lucero of Denver. Leonard (Raquel) Lovato of Trinidad.
Grandchildren Troy and Kenneth Aragon, Rachel Lucero, of Denver. Jesse (Kelly) Griego Evergreen, Kelley (Julio) Luna Aurora and Danielle Griego Switzerland.
Great Grandchildren Kayla Medina, Destiny and Miriah Aragon, Jaylene Horta, Julie and James Trujillo, and Eddie Torres of Denver. Levi, Mikaela and Malakai Luna of Aurora and Allison, Emily & Olivia Griego of Evergreen.
Great great granddaughter Leilani Aragon of Denver.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews and sisterin laws Jane Gomez and Cynthia Olivas Gomez and by special nieces Bea Rico & Valerie Lovato, special nephew Dave Lovato and a special great niece Reagan Rico.
Visitation will be Tuesday September 27th from 3-6 at Comi Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be on Wednesday, September 28th at 10:00 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Aragon, Frank Lucero, Dave & Danny Lovato, Frank Gomez and Ari Ochoa.
Honorary pallbearers are Troy Aragon, James Trujillo, Eddie Torres, Jesse Griego, Levi and Malakai Luna.
