Despite controversy, Board of County Commissioners approves operation of family entertainment, event center at Exit 18

Although there were some drawbacks and social media controversy, the Las Animas County Board of Commissioners approved a Special Use Permit, with caveats, for a family entertainment and event center, Exit 18 Inc., located at 16011 County Road 71, on Apr 2.

Advance Colorado Broadband Grant program adds a project in Las Animas County

On March 22 the Colorado Broadband Office announced Southern Colorado Economic Development District’s project, SECOM FTTP (Fiber-To-The-Premises) on Highway 12 west of Trinidad, was added to The Advance Colorado Broadband Grant Program funding due to its challenge process where previously awarded projects had a reduction causing available funding.SECOM is a broadband internet and telecommunications subsidiary of Southeast Colorado Power Association.
