Colorado Democrats introduce multiple gun restriction bills

Colorado Democrats announced the filing of four firearm bills on Thursday and Republicans vowed to oppose the measures. The Democratic lawmakers say the bills will strengthen Colorado’s “red flag law,” raise the minimum age to purchase firearms from 18 to 21, institute a three-day waiting period, and remove legal protections for firearm sellers and manufacturers.

State announces first town hall for FAMLI program approved two years ago

The Division of Family and Medical Leave Insurance of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment will host a town hall for Coloradans to learn more about the program this week. “What is paid family leave? What does it cover? Who can get it? And how are businesses going to pay for it? Those are just some of the questions Coloradans can get answered,” CDLE said in a release.

City amends animal ords., increases penalty for vicious dogs, amends scope for prosecution

Penalties for improper animal ownership have increased within the City of Trinidad, tightening up regulations on at-large dogs and vicious dogs. The ordinance amendments, which received unanimous approval from Trinidad City Council, increase the fines for having a “vicious dog” and add responsibility to more people for at-large dogs.
