SNAP benefits will reduce after Feb. after passage of 2022 Omnibus nixes emergency allotments

Food assistance benefits will see a reduction in monthly payouts starting after February, state and county officials announced. Coloradans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are expected to see a reduction of about $90 per month, or an average of $360 per month for a family of four, the Colorado Department of Human Services, which facilitates the program, said.

TMS Science Fair bolsters student critical thinking skills, interests, for first time since pandemic

The Trinidad Middle School Science Fair, a time to bolster student’s personal interests and critical thinking skills, made a return this year, the first time since the onset of COVID. About 120 TMS students, in grades sixth, seventh and eighth, explored their scientific abilities, and understanding of the scientific method during the 2023 TMS Science Fair, with projects diving into latent fingerprints, weather, mechanics, egg experiments and boba ball creation, among aisles of others.
