Colorado governor commutes 4 inmates’ sentences, pardons 20 people, including state trooper who guarded Capitol

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Thursday evening cut short the prison sentences of four inmates and pardoned 20 people, including a former Colorado State Patrol trooper who guarded the state Capitol and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge after pointing a gun at a passing driver near the Denver building in 2021 while he was on duty.

City passes $66.6M budget for 2023, budget increases 122% under Mayor Rico

Trinidad City Council adopted a $66.6 million budget for 2023, representing a 17% increase from the city’s 2022 adopted budget. Trinidad plans to expend some $17.5 million in the General Fund, $8.9 million in the Power & Light Fund, $5.3 million in the Water Fund, $4.4 million in the Gas Fund, $2.3 million in the Sewer Fund, $827,000 in the Landfill Fund, $1 million in the Economic Development Fund, $25.4 million in the Capital Projects Fund, $106,000 in the Lottery Fund and $657,000 in the Tourism Fund, totaling $66,624,498.
