Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Colorado continues its statewide monkeypox vaccination distribution with providers across Colorado offering the Jynneos vaccine. Coloradans who can get the Jynneos monkeypox vaccine can use a secure, automated system for finding and scheduling appointments at many clinics statewide, including all state-run and mobile vaccine clinics.
Proposition 121 asks Colorado voters for the second time in two years to decide whether to reduce the state’s individual and corporate income tax rate. In 2020, voters approved a ballot measure slashing the rate to 4.55% from 4.63%.
Courts in Las Animas and Huerfano Counties are seeking volunteer mediators to offer mediation in landlord-tenant disputes and small claim cases to possibly resolve cases outside the courtroom. Volunteer mediators will work directly with individuals who are not represented by attorneys and who are involved in a landlordtenant dispute or small claims case in the civil court system in Las Animas and Huerfano counties.

Proposition 123 is an effort to tackle Colorado’s affordable housing crisis by allocating nearly $300 million each year in existing tax revenue to help local governments and nonprofits work on the issue. The measure on the November ballot comes as affordable housing has become one of the state’s most pressing problems.
Only two of the four unopposed candidates running for Las Animas County elected office attended the Trinidad-Las Animas County Chamber of Commerce Meet the Candidates forum, but the two who did shared their experiences in office and what they hope to accomplish during their next terms.
