The bi-county region saw its active COVID cases increase between the end of August and the first week of September, according to the latest report from the Las Animas-Huerfano Counties District Health Department, as the state extends its public health order until at least Oct. 9.

Trinidad City Council reviewed housing policy recommendations duringaworksessionMondaythat stemmed from a housing needs assessment, allowing council to digest and share their thoughts on how to address the ongoing housing issues within the city. The informational session came after the city contracted Root Policy Research, a Denver-based community planning and housing research firm, to determine the city’s housing needs and present possible solutions to address housing availability within the city.
