Primero welcomes new school staff for 2022-23

Ruth Stodghill Correspondent The Chronicle-News As the 2022-23 school year kicks off, the Primero School District is proud to announce several additions to the staff roster, including Grades Six-12 Principal Jeanine Duran, Grades K-Five Principal Kimberly Raddle, Music Teacher Jen Reilly and School Resource Officer JJ Wilson. Jeanine Duran Secondary Principal Jeanine Duran is a home-grown talent, returning to the district where she started her professional career.

Bus drivers, special education hardest Colorado schools jobs to fill

For Lacey Nelson, the weeks leading up to the start of school are a blur of spreadsheets, meetings and calls from principals about last-minute teacher resignations. With less than two weeks to go, Denver Public Schools’ director of talent acquisition is still looking to hire 150 teachers, 275 paraprofessionals and up to 45 bus drivers.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment released the results from the survey — the state’s only comprehensive survey on health and well-being of young people, including high school and middle school students — in June.

Return of nostalgic movie showings at public library begins tomorrow

Benjamin Mandile Reporter The Chronicle-News After a COVID-induced hiatus, the Trinidad community is seeing the return of public screenings of free “nostalgic” movies at the local public library Thursday. The Trinidad Carnegie Public Library announced this month that it will start showing “nostalgic” movies again in its community room.

CDPHE reminds Coloradans of readily available, lifesaving COVID-19 treatments

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reminds Coloradans of the importance of seeking treatment if they test positive for COVID-19 and that treatments are readily available through a variety of programs. Access to treatment has become more readily available with recent developments including increased telehealth options and FDA authorization allowing state-licensed pharmacists to prescribe Paxlovid to eligible patents.
