Chronicle-News Two women from Raton were arrested in early August after they were allegedly caught distributing drugs in Odessa, Texas. Amber Vargas and Crystal Arguello were charged with two counts of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance and one count of marijuana possession.

Benjamin Mandile Reporter The Chronicle-News Staff members with the City of Trinidad proposed nearly $490,000 in marijuana sales tax expenditures, stemming from marijuana sales taxes collected during Q2 2022, but the requests still need final approval by city council. The City of Trinidad collected $637,129 in marijuana sales taxes during the second quarter, a 46% decline from Q2 2021 and a 30% decline from Q2 2019.

A new mural has been erected in Trinidad on the side of Trinidad Gardens — a marijuana dispensary. The mural came to life through the artistic work of two Denver-metro-based artists, Dan Levison and Daniel Crosier.
