First Friday Art Walk kicks off season in downtown Trinidad

This Friday, June 3rd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. is the season’s kickoff for the First Friday Art Walk adventures in downtown Trinidad. Local galleries, restaurants and other businesses will be open late. Live music will help provide the evening’s festive atmosphere. Tara Carr, with Paul Robison and Randy Welch, will be playing at Gallery Row, at 149 E. Main. SteelVocalKaren, composed of Karen Finch and Rob Gonzalez will be playing at 112 N. Commercial.

Honoring those who served our country. . .

Saturday, May 29 was a beautiful day for the annual placing of the flags on the graves of local veterans that began the Memorial Day weekend. Some 200 local volunteers came out to honor the many veterans who are buried in the Catholic and Masonic Cemeteries in Trinidad. Memorial Day was filled with special services that celebrated the Las Animas County veterans who served their country — some paying the ultimate price for our freedom. Some 200 local volunteers came out to honor and place flags on the graves of the many veterans who are buried in the Catholic and Masonic Cemeteries in Trinidad. Saturday was a perfect day for the annual placing of the flags on the graves of local veterans that began the Memorial Day Weekend filled with special services celebrating the Las Animas County Veterans who served their country. Little Alexis Vigil (right) helped start the day by celebrating with a donut.
