Free BBQ made it into the hands of at least 420 Las Animas County residents Friday, May 13 during the 2022 Las Animas County Department of Human Services LEAP lunch. LACDHS offers free lunch each year to raise awareness for Colorado’s Low-Income Energy Assistance Program and to say thank you to those who participated in the program.

Multiple communities are under evacuation orders in Colfax County due to the Hermits Peak / Calf Canyon fires, authorities announced Monday. Taos Pines Ranch and Veterans Memorial Area are both under “Ready” status, the Village of Angel Fire is under “Set” status and Black Lake, Black Lake Resorts and Hidden Lake are under “Go” status.
