CSP warns young drivers —‘Don’t Chase Cool’

Despite being the safest and one of the easiest decisions a driver and passenger can make, Colorado (86%) still falls below the national average (90%) with seat belt use, and the younger the driver the greater the chance they aren’t buckling up. Teens, as both drivers and passengers, have the lowest rate of seat belt use of any group, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Colorado’s AG wades into murky river dispute that could upend access to state’s rivers, streams

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser wants the Colorado Supreme Court to wade into a murky river-access fight. Weiser this week filed a lengthy brief asking the state’s high court to intervene before a lower court takes up a case involving a fisherman who says he has a right to wade on a stretch of the Arkansas River and a landowner who says the riverbed is private property.

Council secures firm to find city manager

Trinidad is one step closer to finding a replacement for its outgoing city manager after Trinidad City Council approved a resolution to contract with a search firm earlier this month. Trinidad City Council voted 7-0 at a regular meeting April 12 to hire KRW Associates, a Colorado Springs-based executive search firm, to help the city find a replacement for current city manager Mike Valentine, who’s retiring in July.
