Bi-county childhood council seeks public’s support in addressing area child abuse issues

The theme of this year’s awareness and impact campaign is “Growing a Better Tomorrow for All Children, Together.” April 2022 marks the third year Child Abuse Prevention Month will occur during the COVID-19 pandemic. The risk to our nation’s children for experiencing child abuse and neglect in times of extreme stress and uncertainty remains high.

Area nonprofits share funding impact stories with county commissioners

A handful of county nonprofits presented updates to county officials this week to provide insight into funding allocated to the groups earlier this year. The Las Animas County Board of County Commissioners heard brief presentations from five area nonprofits who received grant funding during the county’s 2022 nonprofit grant funding cycle.
