Trinidad City Council reviewed some $500,000 in marijuana sales tax expenditure requests at its work session Tuesday, Feb. 22 — with some pushback on using nearly $48,000 for purchasing Christmas decorations for the city.

Trinidad Police Department responded to or initiated some 479 calls between Thursday, Feb. 10 and Wednesday, Feb. 23, including harassment calls, fireworks and a report of a fire. It had some 252 calls between February 10 and February 16 and some 227 calls between February 17 and February 23.

The search for a missing Trinidad man is now in its second week and officials have seen no sign of him since his disappearance, the Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday morning. David George Shier, 82, went missing Friday, Feb.
