TAD chief speaks on controversy, addresses hospital staff’s suspicions of motive for service plan change

Last week, The Chronicle-News reported on the Las Animas County Board of County Commissar’s public hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 28, which was for consideration of the Trinidad Ambulance District’s request to amend its service plan and convert the organization from an ambulance district to a health service district.

As snowfall covers Trinidad, the city’s only warming center does not open, yet plans to continue operations in the near future

After a heavy snowfall came to the Trinidad area on Jan. 29, the Church of Christ opted not to open its doors as a warming center for those without shelter, citing issues they had with individuals during the recent cold storm and standardizing a temperature cutoff for when they do.
