Trinidadians spend more on utilities than Colorado, U.S. on average: Yet, cost of living 29% less than state, 15% lower than the nation

According to the U.S. Utilities Market Size and Household Spend’s 2024 insight report, Trinidadians, on average, spend around $58 more on utilities than the state average and $24 more than the U.S. national average. Yet, total bills remain far less than the state and national averages.

Details emerge regarding incident when presumably unhoused person ‘accosted’ TSC president with axe

Details emerged regarding the incident that took place on Jan. 4, when the Trinidad State College president, Rhonda Epper, and her husband were reportedly “accosted” by a presumably unhoused individual wielding an axe at the Boulevard Addition trail, which led to her sharing her story at City Hall on Jan. 7 to use as anecdotal evidence for addressing concerns for the unhoused population in Trinidad’s downtown.

Freezing temperatures bring several accidents to Trindad area, including 4-hour 1-25 closure for commercial vehicle recovery

Freezing temperatures swept through the region last week from Tuesday, Jan. 7. and are ongoing (at the time of writing), causing icy road conditions leading to several accidents in the Trinidad area, including a 4-hour I-25 southbound closure at mile point 11 as a commercial vehicle slid off the roadway, needing heavy tow recovery.
