On the afternoon of Sept. 4, Inka Jumisko, of Albuquerque, N.M., was scheduled for a preliminary hearing at the Las Animas County Courthouse through Webex, but a delayed CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) blood test resulted in the hearing being postponed, an unopposed continuance, until Friday, Oct. 10.

Throngs of residents filled downtown Trinidad Monday to begin Labor Day festivities by attending the annual parade. Cheerleaders, bands, veterans and a number of local businesses and community organizations snaked their way through crowd and onto Main Street. This year the parade was celebrating its’ 115th year.
On Aug. 27, the Trinidad Welcome Center announced that its Trolley season would be cut short, just shy of its scheduled end— Labor Day Weekend.

On Aug. 30, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, CBI, announced that they had, alongside the La Junta Police Department, discovered around 143 grams of fentanyl, about 1,430 pills, following a search warrant at a La Junta house on Aug. 29, after receiving intelligence and leads linking the residence to criminal activity.
