One arrested for alleged first-degree attempted murder, following shooting incident in Las Animas County  

Michael Ober, 34, was arrested in Las Animas County and charged with attempted first-degree murder (a class 2 felony), following a shooting incident on the evening of Saturday, July 5, and was held under a $100,000 bond at the LAC Detention Center, according to the LAC Sheriff’s Office.

City of Trinidad mulls over how to sell to voters ballot measure making 1% CIP tax permanent  

With the upcoming November election cycle approaching, featuring three city council seats and a mayoral seat open, on July 7, the Trinidad City Council discussed, during a work session, how it could sell the idea to voters of potentially making the Capital Improvement Fund, or CIP tax, permanent through a ballot initiative.
