Investigation leads to former Aguilar official facing numerous felonies, including embezzlement, forgery, theft, more  

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced Tuesday, Oct. 7, that former Aguilar town official Tyra Marie Avila, 47, faced multiple felony charges following an investigation that allegedly uncovered the former town clerk had misused public funds and more.

Trinidad man busted with stolen U-Haul after allegedly driving while under influence 

On Sept. 26, officers with the Trinidad Police Department arrested Noel Torres, 31, near the 2900 block of Toupal drive (La Quinta Hotel parking lot), after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle, swerving and more, which eventually led to the discovery he was allegedly driving a stolen U-Haul out of Arapahoe County while intoxicated, potentially using fentanyl, according to authorities.

Pronghorn hunting on Fort Carson, Pinon Canyon suspended due to federal government shutdown

All hunting on Fort Carson (GMU 591) and the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site (GMU 142) is suspended due to the federal government shutdown. Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be offering a full refund and a preference point restoration to affected license holders for the upcoming pronghorn season beginning Oct 4.
