Our beautiful and beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Mestas, went to rest in Jesusʼ arms on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Mary was 86 years old, born on September 8, 1936, the daughter of Ana Duran and Epimenio Aguilar. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Myra Jean, her mother Ana, four sisters, and six brothers.

On Monday November 21, 2022 at the age of 74, Jim passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Trinidad, Colorado 37+ years. During that time, he worked for the NRCS in Trinidad and Springfield offices. After his retirement from the NRCS, he worked 10 years for Colorado State University as the State 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator, he was also an adjunct instructor at Trinidad State College teaching NRA training courses, and during his free time he taught Hunter Education classes to thousands in Las Animas, Huerfano and Baca Counties. His greatest love was teaching children all he knew about hunting and how to safely handle firearms. He was laid to rest Friday, November 25th at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery after a beautiful service with family surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Tony Griego, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 16, 2022. He was born on February 27, 1936, in La Veta, CO to Abel and Geronima (Gurule) Griego.
