Ramon “Ray “ Nunez, 76, sadly passed away October 24, 2022 at home. Ray was born in Tucson, Arizona, on August 31, 1946, to Jose and Brigida Nunez.
Thomas Pete Pantazes, 88, passed away Oct 25, 2022. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Pantazes, and Violet Carlin; brothers, Jim Pantazes, and William Pantazes; daughters, Deana Pantazes (Lawrence Vigil), Cynthia Pantazes (Clifford Barker), and Thea (Brandon) Mangino; grandchildren, Daniel (Lena) DeMeo, Joe Ninahaulpa, Jessie Ninahaulpa, Niko (Maria) Burton, and Mario Mangino; great-grandchildren, Jesse Ninahaulpa, Malena Burton, Raelynn DeMeo, and Mathew DeMeo; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt, Frances Martinez; sisters, Cresente Merrill, and Elaine Gusman; and brothers, George and Nick Pantazes. Tom was born to Stamatis Pete and Romana Pantazes on Jan. 13, 1934, at the family home in Aguilar. Tom wore many hats after graduating Aguilar High School in 1954. He was a goat-herder at age eight years old, a coal miner at his dad’s prosperity No. 2 coal mine, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, from July 1954 to July 1958. He was married to Darlene Gonzales for 25 years and had three daughters. Following his military service, he worked at Eaton Metal in Denver, then went back to being a safety inspector for Mid Continent Coal Mine. After that, Tom moved to Pueblo and worked at the steel mill. Before retiring in Aguilar, he worked for Las Animas County. When in his presence you always felt welcomed and at peace. Tom enjoyed singing, telling a joke, telling stories, nature, and being with family. He was a lover of all animals and a strong believer in faith. Tom was a member of the American Legion. Visitation is prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Friday, Nov 4, 2022, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, Colo. Ramon “Ray” V. Nunez, passed away at home in October 24, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was 76. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, at 1 PM, at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services following at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery conducted by the Ft Carson Honor Guard.
