Samuel ‘Sam’ Nicholas Cimino

Sam was born in Jansen Colorado. As a youth, Sam worked for Barney's Garage and in the coal mine that his father owned. He graduated from Holy Trinity School. After graduation he moved to Denver and was in the Colorado National Guard from 1957 to 1963. He also worked at Safeway and then drove trucks for thirty-one years. Sam retired in 1997 from Teamsters local 17. After retiring he volunteered at local food banks for five years. The most important things to him were family, friends, tradition, and making everyone smile and laugh. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, waterskiing, camping, and four wheeling. He is proceeded in death by (daughter) Sammi Cimino, (father) Nick Cimino, (mother) Jennie Cimino, (sister) Nickaline Cimino. He is survived by (wife) Evelyn Cimino, (daughter) Rhonda Cimino Blagg, (Robbie), (son) Nick Cimino, (Grandchildren) Samantha Blagg, Dominic Blagg, Ollie Blagg, Zoe Blagg, (sisters) Genevieve Gurule, Cathy Topping, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Theodore Ritz, Jr.

Theodore Ritz, Jr. died peacefully in Spanish Peak Veteran's home in Walsenburg, Colorado on October 9, 2022, where he had been a resident for 5 years. He was 89 years old. Mr. Ritz was born over the Trinchera Pass, New Mexico on May 27, 1933 to Lula (Vigil) and Theodore Ritz. He was the great greatgrandson of the Charles Bent for which Bent's Fort near La Junta, Colorado was named. He was also a greatgreat -grandnephew of Kit Carson.
