Parents fall short on promises to help their ailing daughter

DEAR ABBY: I suffer from a debilitating, rare, chronic illness. Two years ago, my parents convinced me to move across the country to live with them in a city I’ve never lived in. They promised it would be “only for a year,” they’d pay the cost of moving and finance a “year of wellness.” I was to receive acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, help from doctors, a personal trainer, etc.

May-December romance trips on question of having kids

DEAR ABBY: I’m a 67-year-old single white man. My girlfriend is 21 and African-American. We have been together a year and a half and are deeply in love. We have lots of fun together and go out and do things. When we are out together, people often stare at us. She’s very attractive and turns heads. I tell her everyone is looking at her because she is so beautiful, but that’s probably not totally true.

Bathroom Peeping Tom stuns retirement home employee

DEAR ABBY: Something happened at work that has me traumatized. I work at a retirement house for a convent. The nuns are sweet, kind and easy to get along with. But last week while I was using the bathroom, a nun decided to be a Peeping Tom while I was on the toilet. She laughed at me in a taunting manner saying, “I can see you!” I screamed at her to stop, but she just kept looking and laughing at me. When she finally left, I was in shock.

Editor, In early 2022, the Trinidaddio Blues Festival Board of Directors responded promptly and with detailed information delivered to the City Manager’s office (Mike Valentine at the time) in response to a request for evidence of the revenue generated for the city by the annual Trinidaddio Blues Festival. The packets of information supplied for the City Manager, Mayor and all council members, were generated in response to Councilman Williamson’s inquiry at an early 2022 work session.
