DEAR ABBY: I feel like a terrible wife when my husband gets sick -- not majorly sick, but with a runof- the-mill cold. Men can be terrible babies when they are sick. It is a COLD! He’s not dying. I happen to have a cold right now, and I am functioning just fine and not moaning and groaning about it.
DEAR ABBY: When I read the column about the warning signs of an abuser in your archives, I was scared to realize that my older brother is one. He has most of the qualities you pointed out except for the sex stuff.
DEAR ABBY: I have been married for 37 years. During that time, my husband has cheated on me and fathered several children.
DEAR ABBY: I’m a busy woman. My friend “Adele” was calling me excessively on my cellphone. She would call up to three times every day, even when I was at work. When I would take her call, she’d start questioning me, asking me what I was so busy with. At times she would lecture me about things she thought I should be doing.
A Trinidad resident had his message shared with the nation last month when he shared his thoughts on tax rates with CSPAN. Chip Shirley, a Trinidad resident who has written numerous letters to the editor for this paper over his half a decade in Trinidad, had his thoughts on raising the tax rate for the ultrawealthy streamed on the government focused cable channel.
Dear editor, Before moving to Trinidad, I wanted to live in a small town. And to those who have watched “The Twilight Zone” you would know what I am speaking about when I say “Next stop, Willoughby.”
DEAR ABBY: My 38-yearold daughter is being married this summer. This is her first marriage, and we are planning the wedding. She has never planned a big event like this before, and every suggestion I make gets us into a fight. I know it’s upsetting her terribly, and it’s upsetting me as well.
DEAR ABBY: My girlfriend and I have lived together off and on for three years. We met at a lesbian bar in Los Angeles, and it was love at first sight for me. I suspect she has been seeing another woman. She has changed her dress style and even her cologne. When I confront her, begging her to tell me if she’s been cheating, she laughs it off. We don’t communicate well anymore, and she’s sleeping in another room now.
DEAR ABBY: I started working in engineering in the late 1980s and thought it was “cute” that we all wore Hawaiian shirts when the guys went out for Friday lunches. Now we’re in our 50s, and many of my peers still honor that tradition.
