Brother’s angry outbursts felt at home & work

DEAR ABBY: I have a brother I can’t seem to get along with anymore. Sometimes he’s OK, but most of the time he’s not. I visited him recently for a cookout, and it wasn’t good. He got into an argument with his wife, shattered a glass, tried to fight me out of the blue, and talked about extremist topics -- all in front of his young, impressionable kids. I worry about his three boys and want to have a serious talk with him about getting some therapy.

Dear Abby: disappointed in love, but making all the right moves

DEAR ABBY: I am an out gay Black man. Several weeks ago, the man I have had a crush on told me he’s now in a relationship. While I’m happy for him, I can’t help feeling somewhat resentful because I wanted to be with him. I haven’t dated anyone since my last relationship ended seven years ago. I have now distanced myself and limit myself to interactions and observations of his relationship on social media and in person, while also focusing on my own goals and aspirations. I haven’t messaged him since he expressed that he’s in a relationship.

A change in political climate?

Dear Editor, As the political climate has changed over the decades, so has my party affiliation. I’ve been registered as a Republican and as a Democrat and am now an unaffiliated voter. As I witness the disintegration of our democracy and our personal liberties, I’ll be voting for respect and empathy.

State Rep. weighsin on election

Dear Editor, This is a call to action for all Americans who wish to defend our Republic in order to protect the future of Colorado. Citizens of eastern Colorado, for the past three years in which I’ve had the honor to serve as a State Representative, I’ve seen a continuation of legislation that has been leading our state right over a proverbial cliff.

Reader touts their candidate

Dear Editor, It states in the Bible, “to love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) Clearly in today’s world of politics, there are those that heed to a different motto — “All is Fair in Love and War.” Personally, I’m tired of the latter. I believe this nation needs more of the love.
