Charles (Charlie) Garlutzo

Our beloved brother and long-time Trinidad resident, Charles (Charlie) Garlutzo went to his heavenly home Nov. 1st, 2022. He lived for 69 years in Trinidad Colorado, a community he loved and that loved him. He was born in Trinidad Colorado, May 1, 1953, to Michael Angelo Garlutzo and Josephine (Modica) Garlutzo. He attended Mt Carmel School from kindergarten to eighth grade where his deep-seated Christian Faith began and was nourished. He then attended and graduated from Trinidad High School.

Charlie worked on the railroad and for Las Animas County as well as doing yard maintenance as a small private business.

He was a client for many years at the Southern Colorado Developmental Center, under their guidance and assistance.

Our dear brother and uncle loved hunting, football and enjoyed getting on that gambling bus going to Cripple Creek. He spent hours enjoying his western movies and shows especially Family Feud.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by Pauline (Bert) Rhodes and Elaine Afonso Naccarato (Frank), numerous nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Kathy (Noe) Garlutzo.

Charlieʼs rosary will be at C omi F u n e r a l H ome November 14th at 7:00pm with a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, November 15th at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

The Pallbearers will be Brad Payne, Ernie Madrid, Noah Robinson, Gary Rhodes, Glen Rhodes, and Ryan Reneau.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Monteleone, Bill Garlutzo, Mark Lamberti, Joel Juarez, Brett Wiebke, Ken Alfonso, and Paul Barros.
