The City of Trinidad recently announced that Trinidad will host the 2026 Colorado Creative Industries Summit next year and is asking for Las Animas County creatives to submit designs for the summit, nominate a local creative leader for the Governor’s Creative Leadership Awards and create art for that award.

The summit is being organized by Colorado Creative Industries and CREATE Trinidad and will be held in downtown Trinidad on June 4-5, 2026.

Said the city, “This event brings together over 300 creative professionals from more than 60 Colorado cities and towns to connect, learn, and be inspired through dynamic exhibits, performances, workshops, and networking opportunities.”

The city is hoping Las Animas County artists and designers will support the summit in three ways:

1) By designing the summit branding and program

• CCI is seeking a Las Animas County artist or designer to craft the visual identity for the summit. Applications are open until August 25, 2025. Visit the City of Trinidad website at www.trinidad.co.gov for more information on how to apply.

2) Creating artwork for the 2026 Governor’s Creative Leadership Awards

• Submit your design concept by September 12. For more details go to https://oedit.colorado.gov/governors-creative-leadership-awards and scroll to “Awards Artwork.”

3) And by nominating a creative leader

• Nominate someone for the Governor’s Creative Leadership Awards by going to https://oedit.colorado.gov/governors-creative-leadership-awards. Nominations close on October 24.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs to shine on a statewide platform and showcase the innovative spirit of Trinidad and Las Animas County,” said the city. “Whether you’re aiming to share your work, gain exposure, or contribute to Colorado’s vibrant arts community, the Summit provides an exceptional stage to advance your creative career.”
