David Arnonld (Arnie) Gallegos

David Arnonld ( Arnie) Gallegos passed away suddenly at home on February 15, 2022 at the age of 73. Arnold was born on May 22, 1948 in Alamosa, Colorado to David F and Consuelo (Connie) Gallegos.

Arnold was a teacher and coach for 38 years at Hoehne High School. He was a graduate of El Rito Normal School and Adam State College where he was an outstanding athlete in both. Arnold was an amazing husband, “daddy”, son, brother, uncle, teacher, coach, and mentor to all. He loved his family dearly and shared the same love to all his students and friends.

Arnold served on the Hoehne School Board and currently serves on the El Rito Normal School Reunion Board, Valley Metropolitan Recreation District, and currently was appointed to serve on the Sunflower Valley Pipeline Association Board. He also ran the score clock at every Hoehne High School Football home game.

Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Abigail, son David Gallegos, and daughter Andrea Gallegos, sister Elieen (George) Gonzalez, brothers Raul (Mary) Gallegos, Albert (companion Lucy) Gallegos and Dennis (DJ) Gallegos. Niece Denise DePaula, nephews George and Nathan Gonzalez, Albert, Carl, Steve and Eli Gallegos and Matt Schulte.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents David and Connie Gallegos and infant son John Gallegos. Serving the family as pallbearers are George Gonzalez, Nathan Gonzalez, Daniel De Paula, Eli Gallegos, Paul Cordova, Manuel Navarette, honorary pallbearers are every student, friend, and family member whose life Arnold touched.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Comi Funeral Home Chapel. Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p. m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Requiem Mass will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church.

The family respectfully requests that following the mass, burial to be private. Friends and family will be able to gather with the family later at a reception, time and place to be announced.

The family would like masks to be worn at services.

The family of Arnold Gallegos has entrusted the care of their loved one to Comi Funeral Home of Trinidad Colorado.
