On March 3, 2022 at 10:27 AM David Laurence Huey passed away peacefully at Parkview medical center in Pueblo Colorado surrounded by his family he was 69 years old.
David was born on January 14, 1953 in Fairmont West Virginia to Delbert J “Bud” Huey and Marcelina Rukavina Huey. David grew up in Mannington WV. He graduated from Mannington high school in 1970 upon graduating he went to work for Eastern Associated Coal Corp.
In the early 1980s David move to Colorado eventually settling in Lagarita He worked as general Mine Foreman for Golden Eagle owned by Wyoming gas and fuel.
David owned and operated City Carriage Paint & Body for 30 years and turned it into a community staple. David would always help others. David also served on the Primero School Board. David married the love of his life Becky “ Martinez “ September 6, 1997. David and Becky loved to travel they loved to go to Hawaii and Mexico. David also had a passion for motorcycles, Harleys, dirt bikes and classic cars, which he spent most of his life restoring. Going on motorcycle rides was a a favorite pastime. David also loved the mountains, water skiing and camping with his wife.
He was a devoted family man who loved his children; David L Huey (Angela Williams), Melanie Huey (Alva Ashley), Tylor Holstein (Elaine Holstein), Asa Huey (Andrea Huey), and Joshua Huey (Nancy Huey).
David is preceded in death by his father Delbert J Huey, Sister Linda Huey, Brother Michael Huey and Grandparents Asa and Gladys Statler and Delbert R Huey.
David is survived by his wife Becky Ann Huey his mother Marcelene, sisters Ruth (Jack Lesley), Kathleen Huey (Stanley Efaw), Patricia (Ashley) Gibbon, Lisa Huey (Ken Iams), brother Mark Huey (Becky Long), Grand children Christopher, Cody, Leslie (Jordan), Tyler, Bryson, Zachary, Exzavier, Kaleb, Jaxon, Ethan, Mason, Great granddaughter Bella and David and Becky’s beloved black labs Carbon and Jack.
Davidʼs wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread in the mountains that he loves so much. No services will be held.
