German POWs

The Trinidad Carnegie Public Library is excited to host a book signing for Melva Nolan on Friday afternoon, Nov. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. upstairs in the library’s main room.

Melva is a dedicated quilter and hosts her own blog, MelvaLovesScraps. She grew up in the Schleich family from LaJunta, which has roots in Southern Colorado going back to the early 20th century. Her grandparents were Germans living in Russia before they ventured to the United States. They farmed in various places south of the Arkansas River, eventually settling in Model shortly before World War II.
