Fans of reading and exercise now have a way to do both at once since the Carnegie Library of Trinidad recently installed a StoryWalk — a move that libraries worldwide have done over the last decade or so — which allows people to get outside in nature and enjoy a slow read of a book.

“We saw the idea so we thought that maybe it would be great to have an outdoor reading activity for the children and parents,” said Phyllis Kilgroe, the Carnegie Library of Trinidad’s children librarian. She said that one reason it started locally earlier this year was because earlier on in the pandemic the library was not holding a lot of story times.
