First National Bank
First National Bank in Trinidad is asking for donations toward its 21st annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Over the past 20 years, countless families have received a Thanksgiving surprise on the Sunday before Thanksgiving when volunteers deliver gift certificates for groceries and dining out at local restaurants.
“The bank will be collecting cash donations and distributing grocery gift cards to families in need this year,” said First National Bank in Trinidad Event Coordinator Christa Smith-Prieto.
“Over the years, many families were so overwhelmed that they could not find the words to express their gratitude,” said Smith-Prieto. “The generosity of the people, businesses and organizations in this community has been unbelievable! We hope that this year will be no different.”
“In just 15 days, we hope to collect enough cash donations to provide grocery gift cards for many local families in need. Families without cooking facilities will be given gift certificates to go out for a family meal. Only cash donations will be accepted, and every little bit helps,” said Smith-Prieto. Donations will be accepted now through Friday, Nov. 15 at any First National Bank in Trinidad location.
“As a community, let’s come together to do a good thing by giving for Thanksgiving,” said Smith-Prieto.
