Frederick Wight founded The First National Bank in Trinidad on April 16, 1875, one year before Colorado became a state. Wight was part owner of one of Trinidad’s early hotels and was also involved in sheep and cattle ranching. He was born in Maine and came out west during the Civil War.First National Bank
