Herman Espinoza, Age 92

Herman Espinoza, of Trinidad, CO, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022. He was 92 years old.

Herman was born on September 16, 1929 to Rose and Joe Espinoza. In 1953 he married Shirley Boccaccio and they had 11 children; 10 boys and one girl. Herman worked for the city of Trinidad and after retirement was a full-time grandpa. He and his wife enjoyed making frequent trips to Cripple Creek.

Herman was a kind man and would help clean his many friend’s and daughter Christine’s yards even in the later years. He was a passionate golfer and could often be found at the golf course when he wasnʼt at home. Some of his favorite times were spent with his sons and grandchildren on the golf course or fishing at Monument Lake with family. He enjoyed traveling with his son-in-law, Paul, on almost a daily basis doing short and long distance tows across Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. He liked to sweep rocks, bring his great grandsons Mc Donalds, watch golf and football and enjoyed visits with all of his sons and grandchildren.

Herman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his father Joe and mother Rose; brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and wife, Shirley Espinoza; sons Michael, Robert, Mark, Joseph and Larry; grandchildren Chastity Ann, Jennifer and Jeffrey and great grandchild Mikey. He is survived by Marty (Christine) Espinoza, Daryl (Jolene) Espinoza, Rudy (Eleanor) Espinoza, Kevin Espinoza and Christine (Paul) Marques. Grandchildren: Mario (Rachel) Espinoza, Marty Jr. (Heather) Espinoza, Gwen Talamantes, Anthony (Ai’D) Pagnotta, Tessa Espinoza, Eric Espinoza, Richie (Sharice) Espinoza, Jordan (Tanisha) Casias, Jeremiah Casias, Shania Casias, Rich Gallegos, Nick Gallegos, Rudy Espinoza, Katie Espinoza, Crystal Espinoza, Zach Boyer, Katelynn Boyer, Cassie (Herbie) Hart and Sandi (Justin) Rael; 33 great children and 2 great-great grandchildren. Siblings: Rick (Karen) Espinoza, Steve (Renada) Espinoza, Gilbert (Lorenza) Espinoza and Lilian ( Edward) Valdez, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Comi Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3pm-7pm at the Comi Chapel. There will be a Rosary at Comi Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hermanʼs grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are Mario Espinoza, Marty Espinoza Jr., Eric Espinoza, Richie Espinoza, Jordan Casias, Jeremiah Casias, Joseph Manzanares, and Isiah Espinoza.
