Hickenlooper, Bennet, urge federal agency to protect mobile home residents from rent Hikes, evictions

Colorado law allows manufactured housing community residents the right of first refusal when the land underneath is offered up for sale. Mobile home park residents at three different sites in Durango have recently used Colorado’s right of first refusal to purchase the parks. In one, residents were able to stave off a $300 rent increase as a result. The Sans Souci mobile home park (above) has provided affordable rent in a picturesque setting in Boulder County for decades.
