February 15, 1932–February 16, 2023

On February 16, 2023, at age 91, Irene Chacon peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She was an extraordinary woman, who raised an amazing family. On August 11, 1951 she married her beloved husband Candido “Candy” Chacon, and they were married for 60 years.

She was a loving mother of four to Candido II “Tony”, JoAnn, Sandra, and Angel. Beloved by 7 grandchildren (Randall, Wendy, Irene, Candido III, Cyndi, Kyle, Christina), 10 great grandchildren (Tamara, Seth, Randi, Troy, Shanelle, Aliya, Bri’elle, Finn, Ares, Angel, Dante, Daniel, Lauren, Candido IV “Anthony”) 5 great-great grandchildren (Lilliana, Dominik, Deleciana, Cason, and Rome).

She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “grandma”.

Irene was an amazing painter, cook, genealogy student, puzzle maker and enjoyed playing games with her family. She loved to pass her time watching the birds feed while having the perfect view from her kitchen window. Her favorite bird to watch was a hummingbird. A hummingbird symbolizes intelligence, beauty, devotion, strength, and love, which are all traits that described her perfectly. She made sure to pass on many traditions and created so many wonderful memories with her family.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Irene’s services will be held at: Friday, March 3rd, 2023 at 10:00am Queen of Peace Church 13120 E Kentucky Ave Aurora, CO 80012 A memorial and Celebration of Life Reception will follow at 12:00 Noon Windsor Gardens Community Center 595 S Clinton Center Denver CO 80247 A burial ceremony will follow at a later date.
