James Thomas Trommeter was born on June 24, 1967 and went home to our Heavenly Father on July 29, 2022. Jim was the seventh child born to Dorothy and Edgar Trommeter.
Jim was a blessing to all who knew him and he was loved dearly by his mom, dad, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and even beyond that.
He attended Ellis and Beacon schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver. He worked at the Botanical Gardens, the Marriott, Taco Bell and Wendyʼs. Jim was an altar boy at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and he loved serving at mass. He attended various summer camps and made several trips to California. Jim participated in the Special Olympics program and won numerous ribbons in various events. He did especially well in swimming and bowling. Jim loved Hot Wheels and had quite an extensive collection. He loved getting them and could never have too many! He also loved music and played the organ well. He loved polka music and Lawrence Welk. He even went to Branson, Mo. to see the Lawrence Welk show. It was a very special time for Jim as he got a kiss from Mary Lou Metzger!!! Jim not only loved his music but he also loved to dance–he had quite the moves!!! Jim moved to Trinidad, Colorado with his parents in 1995. There he worked at Taco Bell and Wendyʼs and attended the Las Animas County Rehabilitation Center. Jim delighted in all his friends, coaches, mentors and enjoyed all the activities provided at LACRC. He was a Bronco and Rockieʼs fan and loved watching the games with his Dad and brothers. He also enjoyed going fishing at Trinidad lake with family. When at home, Jim loved to color and do latch hooks. He was an artist in his own right. He could make the most beautiful pictures out of a simple coloring page. His color combinations were amazing. Jim absolutely loved the holidays but especially Christmas and his birthday! He loved nothing better than being surrounded by his family. His smile would light up the room and his giggles would warm your heart! We will all miss Jimmy so very much and he will forever be in our hearts!
