Jennie Chavez

Jennie Chavez, 82, of Trinidad, Colorado, went to be with the lord on December 17, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1940, in La Junta, Colorado, the daughter of late Al and Beatrice Pacheco. She was one of 5 siblings; Ramona, Anthony, Lawrence, Gilbert, and Linda. She was married to Flavio Chavez, her husband of 57 years. She attended and graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School. Throughout her career she worked for numerous doctors’ offices, as a receptionist, which she later retired from.

Preceding her in death; her husband, Flavio Chavez, only Son, Floyd A. Chavez; mother, Beatrice Pacheco and siblings; Ramona, Anthony and Gilbert. She is survived by her grandchildren; Kayla Vigil, Shannon(Damon)Vigil, and Zak Chavez (MyRanda); great-grandchildren; Domanic, Silvano, Graciella and Hayden; daughter-inlaw; Billie(Jim) Richardson, her brother; Lawrence(Yvonne) Pacheco and sister; Linda(Jim) Romero, friend; Frank Velarde, sister-in-law Lillian Aragon and nephew Adin and numerous nephews and nieces.

She truly was one of a kind. She had a smile that could light up any room. She was the glue that held things together. She was a loyal catholic and prided herself on her religion, she enjoyed working on crafts, spending time with her family and friends, shopping, cooking and of course, going to bingo and cripple creek to use her endless luck. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and cherished all the time she spent with her best friend and sister Linda (they were like teenagers when they were together). She also was very fond of her amazing friend Frank. Amongst the difficulties of losing her son to a drunk driver, she remained strong and always kept her faith.

Visitation will be Wednesday December 28th at Comi Chapel from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Rosary will be held Thursday, December 29th, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Trinidad, Colorado, at Noon. Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM to follow.

Interment will be held on Friday, December 30th, at Imperial Gardens in Pueblo, Colorado at 11am.

Pallbearers are as follows; Philip Romero, Matthew Romero, Ted Pacheco, Steve Martinez, Zak Chavez, and Damon Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers unable to attend are as follows; Anthony Pacheco, Yves Pacheco, Daniel Pacheco and Gilbert Pacheco.
