John H. Bacich, 101, passed away at home on September 16, 2022. He was born on August 29, 1921, in Yugoslavia to Anna and Andre Bacich.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Mildred and sons Greg and Doug Bacich, brother Peter Bacich, sisters Mary Klay and Rosie Bridenball.

He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp as a tail gunner in B17 bombers (Flying Fortresses).

John was employed as surveyor /engineer for the State of Colorado for 30 years until his retirement. He then worked for the Comi Funeral Home until 2001.

He was active in the community, serving as Las Animas County Commissioner and was the founder of the original Trinidad Boxing Club.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Gerri and Jay Palmersheim, CA. son John Dean Bacich, Trinidad, grandchildren, Jason Br own i n g a n d f ami l y, Douglas and Brooke Hills and family, Chelsea and Ryan Carls, Laney and Mario Cappellucci, Lucas Valdez, nephews, and nieces, Patty Corsentino and family, Renee and Brian Tamburelli and family, Myra Bacich, Paula Singletary, Cody Singletary, Jimmy Bacich and Peter Bacich.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 7, 2022 at 2 PM with Bro Harry Gonzales officiating at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel.

Inurnment at a later date. Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
