JOSEPH ANGELO DEANGELIS

Joseph Angelo DeAngelis, 78, died peacefully with his family by his side on Feb. 5, 2023. He was born Oct. 1, 1944, to Angelo and Laura (Maccagnan) DeAngelis in Trinidad, Colo.

He was raised in Sopris, Colo., and lived in Trinidad his remaining years. He was married to Geraldine (Micheliza) for 57 years. He worked at M&M Distributing Company from 1966 to 2000. He was a member of the Elks BPOE 181. He loved watching his grandchildren grow and play sports. He liked to garden, hunt, fish, eat, and make wine. He was an avid Nuggets and Avalanche fan. He loved spending time with his family and traveling, especially to Cabo.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Gerri; brother Don (Lynda) DeAngelis; sister Kathy (Dan) Nuschy; son Joe (Toni) DeAngelis; daughter Cheryl (Kevin) DeCristino; grandchildren Chris (KK) DeAngelis; Matthew DeAngelis; Nick DeAngelis; Brittany (Rex) Cabral; KJ (Kaitlyn) DeCristino; Mike DeCristino; and great grandson Kaisen DeCristino; and countless extended family. All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at 7 p.m. at Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home, (Located within the newly renamed Chappell House, 335 East Main Street). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
