Las Animas County announced that its “ADA Van Parking Spaces” project is set to begin on the week of July 7, for approximately two months, and could cause closures.

The project was initially slated to begin the previous week, but vandalism of contractor equipment delayed the start, according to officials.

The county anticipates some closures throughout the project’s duration.

“There will be instances when the alley will be closed at Maple, with the closure extending to the east side of the [courthouse’s] south wing,” county officials stated. “Access to the courtyard will remain open via Chestnut (the current one-way traffic restriction will be discontinued during these closures).”

Additionally, the county expects the alley to be closed for approximately one and a half weeks, at various intervals, during the duration of the project.
