Martin (Mitch) J. Fernandez passed away on April 24, 2022 a this home in Lakewood, CO. He was 73 years old. Martin was born June 20, 1948 in Trinidad, CO, the son of Valentine and Genevieve Fernandez. He attended Holy Trinity, graduated from Trinidad High School, attended University of CO, Trinidad State Jr. College and graduated from Adams State College, Alamosa, CO in 1972 with degrees in Art and Psychology. It was there that he met and married, in 1972, his first wife, Karen Kelly (Feldman), with whom he had two beautiful daughters, Kala and Kelli. He married Lisa Russ (Curtis) in 1989. Both marriages ended in divorce.

Mitch worked at Saturn North and Leo Payne amongst other car dealerships.

He was a talented artist and had a love of cars, all Denver sports teams, the mountains and travel, but his main interest and love was in his daughters and family.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Victor, Daniel and John. He is survived by his daughters Kala (Octavio) Munguia and Kelli Fernandez, brothers Dennis (Cheryl) and Gerard, sister Marian (Ronald) Horton, sister-in-laws Sherry (Victor), Carol (Daniel), and Carol (John), goddaughter Shelley Litsey, numerous nephews and nieces, and nine grandchildren.

Services for Martin will be held on June 20, 2022 with a 10:00 Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church and a Celebration of Life at 1:00 at Misfits. Both are located in Lakewood, CO. His ashes will be interned in Trinidad, CO at a later date.
