Mary E. Velasquez, 83, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2023 in Walsenburg, Colorado. She was born on December 21, 1939. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Delicia Valdez, her husband John Velasquez, her son, Robert Velasquez, her daughter-in-law, Janna Velasquez, her brothers, Manuel, Gabe, Leroy, Charles and Edmond, her sisters, Margaret, Alice and Florence.

Mary is survived by her children, Allen Velasquez, Lorrie (Tony) Cappellucci, her sister Penny (Bernard) Vasquez, Grandchildren, Levi Velasquez, John (Amy) Velasquez and Micah Velasquez and great grandchildren Josiah, Judah, Elijah, and Derek Velasquez and numerous other relatives.

On September 12th, 1959, Mary was united in marriage to John Velasquez in Raton, New Mexico. After the birth of their first child in 1961, they moved to Hayward, CA. until they returned to Trinidad in 1970 to raise their family and care for her parents A memorial service will be held on April 28th at 1:00 pm at Comi Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery.
