Richard William Babnick. age 79, passed away at home on February 21, 2022. He was 79.

He was born in Alamosa, CO on February 20, 1943 to Marion and William Babnick.

He attended Alamosa schools graduating in 1961.

In 1966, Rich received his BA degree from Adams State College.

Upon moving to Trinidad in 1989, he worked as a land developer for Charles Baldwin.

He then became field manager for the Trinidad Housing Authority where he was currently employed.

An important part of Rich’s life was serving as Fisher’s Peak Fire Department as Chief for several years.

His favorite hobby was model airplanes.

Preceding him in death are parents, and son Robert Darin Babnick.

Left to cherish his memory is wife Deana Babnick of home address, son Michael (Kristy) Babnick, Las Cruces, NM, grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Madison, Claire and Emily Babnick and great grandchild Devan Babnick.

He is also survived by sister, Marlo (Rodney) Dawson, Cedar Falls IA , brother Robert (Linda) Babnick, El Paso, TX and many friends.

At his request, cremation with no services.
