In my deepest sorrow, I’d like to announce that my beloved mother Sadie Rose Gonzales-Duran passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Colorado Springs on Feb. 18, 2023. Sadie was born Jan 29, 1937 and was raised in Hoehne, CO, she married and moved to Walsenburg where she raised her small family. She lived a simple and honest life. In her younger years she loved to sing and play guitar. She loved old country music and Elvis Presley. In her later years she enjoyed cooking meals for her family, she loved to watch football, feed the neighborhood squirrels and watch the hummingbirds in summertime. She always had a voice for conversation and had many stories to tell. She will be missed, Greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Loretta, son in law James, daughter Brenda. Grandchildren Kayla, Alex, Billie Jean, Ed and Great-granddaughter Gabriella. Her sisters Mary Vigil, Terry Thornton and Madeline Atkinson are grieving as well. She has cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her presence. She is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Guadalupe Gonzales, siblings Joe, Darlene and Stella.

Services will be held in Trinidad at Comi Funeral Home Thursday March 16, 2023 at 1pm. Private family burial will be held in Hoehne at a later date.
